Our doubts ebb and flow
and then wane and wax:
does anyone there
ever pay all his tax?
“ So I took him out, Boss,
and I showed him aroun’.
Says it’s nearly as nice
as his Wallace hometown.”
When riding in an aircraft
it’s not good to hit a goose,
and yet one would prefer that
to the same thing with a moose.
It is dismal and dark
and travel’s impeded,
but still I applaud it
for shovels aren't needed.
Said a Tel Aviv spokesman named Gus,
“We regret this unfortunate fuss,
but Hamas is to blame
that we bomb, kill and maim --
and besides Hitler did it to us.”
Monogrammed towels
and wood panels too;
he’s king on a throne
when he’s in the loo.
I wish you good fortune
and rest from your worries,
wish you laughter and love
and no snow but flurries.
If a clunk and a clang
on the rooftop you hear
it’s because old St. Nick
has the chains on this year.
